On the bright side, we have the buildings on Water Street being gutted to within an inch of their lives to be made habitable again. Once we have those fixed up and filled the demand will grow for more units (and they can't bulldoze some potential sites fast enough).
You can add the massive restoration of Main Street currently underway to that. There's plenty happening in Cambridge to be excited about. Personally, I'd much rather have an enlivened, repopulated Main Street than almost anything on that list.
