Wonderful Waterloo Urban Reward Program Terms and Conditions

MEMBERSHIP ENROLLMENT

1. You must be a Wonderful Waterloo member in good standing to participate. Each WW member is automatically enrolled in the Urban Reward Program. To opt out simply message a moderator.

2. Only one Urban Reward Program account is available per member.

3. The Wonderful Waterloo Urban Reward Program accounts are the property of Wonderful Waterloo and they may be revoked at any time by Wonderful Waterloo in its sole discretion.

4. Spamming the forum will result in Urban Reward Program points being forfeited for that month. Constant spamming of the forum could result in the account being closed.

5. Wonderful Waterloo reserves the right to refuse issuance of an Urban Reward Program account to any member who does not follow the Terms and Conditions.

6. The Wonderful Waterloo Urban Reward Program is available to individuals, businesses, charities, and government. Wonderful Waterloo reserves the right to limit Urban Reward Program Points awarded to reasonable daily, weekly and monthly quantities. The monthly limit has been set at 500 points.

COLLECTION OF URBAN REWARD POINTS

7. To collect Urban Reward Program Points, a Member must make eligible posts on the forum.

8. Urban Reward Program Points will be awarded at the rate of 10 Urban Reward Program Points for each forum post. Wonderful Waterloo may offer special promotions from time to time offering additional Urban Reward Program Points.

9. Urban Reward Program Points are shown on each member’s profile. Accumulated points will be updated quarterly or at any time by Wonderful Waterloo in its sole discretion.

10. On a merged and/or deleted post the Urban Reward Program Points will be deducted from the Urban Reward Program member’s account.

11. All Wonderful Waterloo Urban Reward Program Points totals, as shown on their member profiles, will be deemed correct unless otherwise substantiated by the Member by bringing forward evidence satisfactory to Wonderful Waterloo in its sole discretion. Discrepancies must be addressed with moderators within 3 months of the date on which the discrepancy occurred. Wonderful Waterloo reserves the right to restrict redemption or put a “hold” on Urban Reward Program points for up to 45 days from the date the points are posted to an account.

12. Urban Reward Program Points are reduced to zero upon closure of a Wonderful Waterloo account.

13. Upon the death of a Wonderful Waterloo Member, the Member’s account will be closed and any Urban Reward Program Points in the account will be forfeited. Urban Reward Program Points are not divisible in the case of divorce.

14. Should any Wonderful Waterloo Member not acquire Urban Reward Program Points for 12 consecutive calendar months, the membership will be deemed to be inactive and all accumulated Urban Reward Program Points will be forfeited. At that time the Urban Reward Program Points balance may be reduced to zero at Wonderful Waterloo’s sole discretion.

REDEMPTION OF POINTS

15. Urban Reward Program Points may be redeemed for the following rewards. Message any moderator to start the redemption process.

From time to time, special promotions may be run during which one or more redemption level(s) may temporarily be altered and/or suspended, or new redemption levels added.

16. A Member’s Urban Reward Program points balance will be reduced by the number of points required to obtain the desired point redemption level. Unredeemed Urban Reward Program points will remain in the Member’s Urban Reward Program account and can be applied to a subsequent transaction.

17. Urban Reward Program points may not be collected or redeemed by any person other than the Urban Reward Program Member. Urban Reward Program Members may be required to provide proof of identity when redeeming Urban Reward Program Points to protect the integrity of the Member’s Points balance. Each Urban Reward Program Member is responsible to ensure that all Personal Information is correct and up-to-date and Wonderful Waterloo reserves the right to block redemptions where the Urban Reward Program Member information is inaccurate or incomplete.

18. Wonderful Waterloo will not be liable or responsible in any manner for any tax consequences which may flow from any participation in the Urban Reward Program by any non-Canadian resident, corporation, business, charity, partnership or enterprise.

19. From time to time, Wonderful Waterloo may advertise or offer exclusive offers to select Urban Reward Program Members with respect to which they may receive other benefits or discounts.

20. Urban Reward Program points have no cash value and are not exchangeable for cash. Except as permitted from time to time by Wonderful Waterloo, Urban Reward Program points cannot be assigned, exchanged, purchased or given by gift. Urban Reward Program points cannot be sold, traded, bartered, rented or otherwise disposed of. Urban Reward Program points are void if sold for cash or any other consideration.

GENERAL INFORMATION

21. The Wonderful Waterloo Urban Reward Program will terminate at 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2015 (the “Termination Date”).

22. Urban Reward Program Members will have until March 31, 2016 to redeem rewards using Urban Reward Program Points accumulated up to the Termination Date. Urban Reward Program points will expire at 11:59 p.m. on March 31, 2016 and will not be honoured after such expiration date.

23. Wonderful Waterloo reserves the right to extend the Program beyond the Termination Date, or terminate the Program at any time prior to the Termination Date, by providing 30 days notice on Wonderful Waterloo. If events beyond Wonderful Waterloo’s control materially affect Wonderful Waterloo’s ability to operate the Urban Rewards Program, the Program may be suspended or terminated without notice.

24. Wonderful Waterloo may restrict, suspend or otherwise alter any aspect of the Urban Reward Program, without notice. Any material changes to these Terms and Conditions will be posted online. The online version of the Terms and Conditions is the governing version.

25. Any abuse by a Member of the Urban Reward Program privileges, any failure by a Member to follow the Program’s rules, regulations, Terms and Conditions, or any misrepresentation by a Member may, at Wonderful Waterloo’s sole discretion, subject the Member to expulsion from the Program, including forfeiture of all accumulated Urban Reward Program Points.

26. Upon suspension or termination of the Program for any reason whatsoever, Wonderful Waterloo will have no liability therefore to any Member and is automatically released from all claims by Urban Reward Program members in respect of such suspension, termination, forfeiture of Urban Reward Program Points, redemption of Points or otherwise in respect of such suspension or termination.

27. Every effort has been made to ensure that the information herein is correct. Wonderful Waterloo is not responsible for any errors or omissions.

28. By redeeming Urban Reward Program Points for rewards, the Urban Reward Program Member releases Wonderful Waterloo from any and all liability and claims regarding the redemption and use of the reward and any loss or damage caused by goods and services supplied as a reward.

taylortbb is correct on how the points were handed out. Each poster from yesterday was assigned a number (this was done alphabetically) and then a random number was selected (using www.random.org). The same thing will happen today and tomorrow.

Rate Increase

We've now been paid for our first in-house ad, located on the right hand side of the site. It's for a long-term commitment, so I'm comfortable raising the membership payout rate again, this time by 25%. Effective as of midnight February 1, 2012, points are now being awarded at 10 per post:

If you know of people/businesses looking to advertise in the area, please let them know there's a completely local option here on Wonderful Waterloo. A perfect example would be a downtown cafe advertising their anniversary or special event, and then members cashing in points for Downtown Kitchener BIA gift certificates and spending those dollars at the cafe. This keeps the cafe's dollars local, rather than sending them off to California.


Reward Options

I want you to think about more reward options you'd like for redeeming points. The BIA gift certificate program is great, but there may be other "city building" institutions which should also qualify, in particular in Cambridge and the townships. Examples include: Cambridge Centre for the Arts Drop-In Programs, Centre in the Square tickets, Waterloo Siskins tickets, Elmira Little Theatre tickets , strips of GRT tickets, etc. Feel free to private message any ideas you have.
