  1. Maybe this is just me, but I've had a recurring problem when using Quick Reply. I click that, I type my post, and I go to submit it - and my too-quick-thinking brain clicks the big obvious button below, Reply to Thread.

Which does not submit my Quick Reply, but instead goes to the standard Reply screen, with a blank form. So I've just lost my post.

I've been trying to train myself to work around that, but it keeps getting to me (especially if I'm using Reply with Quote, which always uses the Quick Reply layout).

Is there any way to adjust things so it does not trip me up? And does anyone else have this problem?

Yes we can try moving things around, although I'd keep the lower Reply to Thread button where it is. Would people prefer to:

    A) Change the Quick Reply to the Advanced Reply layout (then the Post Quick Reply button is further away from the Reply to Thread button)
    B) Redesign the Quick Reply layout. This could be as simple as shifting those lower buttons to a new position (centered, to the left), making them larger, changing their colour (so they stand out more), etc..

To the left would probably help, so that 'Post Quick Reply' is between the text box and the blue button - it would be harder to miss, I think.

How about the achieving the same thing by moving Reply to Thread to the right? It's UI convention to right-align buttons within a window or form. I'd find buttons on the left to be quite unintuitive.

Here's what we'll do. 3 options will be set-up (or more if there are other suggestions):

    1) Default Style: Post Quick Reply buttons on the right, Reply to Thread button on left [active]
    2) QRLeft: Post Quick Reply buttons on the left, Reply to Thread button on left [active]
    3) ReplyRight: Post Quick Reply buttons on the right, Reply to Thread on right [not yet active]

They're selectable from the Quick Style Chooser on the bottom toolbar.

Size: 25.8 KB

After a week of testing, a poll will be set-up to determine the preferred layout.

I've done that a number of times.
