I was walking uptown this evening and saw a billboard on the SE corner of King and William (I think), across from where the new HSBC is going in and Marbles, for a new condo development called one50king.com. 10 floors only 13 units, Looks like alot of glass. Probably pricey++. I tried to look it up but found nothing. One to keep an eye on. Anyone heard anything about this or is it kinda out of the blue...![]()
Wow, this is completely out of the blue, and the building looks amazing!Originally Posted by urbangeographer

This is news to me! I like it. Check out the price list.....Is uptown Waterloo ready for this type of development?

Real nice building!.
Only 13 units in the building so they don't need to sell a lot of them. If they can convince 13 people to move out of Kiwans Park or Deer Ridge maybe this will work. This building is pretty luxury. It's like having a house in a condo. The penthouse unit has a 2600sq/ft balcony!. Every unit has their own private in suite garbage chute.
Nice condo! Love the size of the balconies. I hope that they put commercial units on the main floor.
Wow. This is what Uptown's been missing?
Does this need Council approval? I know a few of the buildings facing the old square there are designated as heritage.
Their diagrams show a 1076 sq. ft. retail unit at (I think) the corner with William.Originally Posted by FancyNancy
It looks like a very nice building. I'm not sure if I would want a condo where all my exterior walls are glass though. It would be very hot in the summer with the sun beaming in.

Or just 13 new residents coming for the first time to the region of Waterloo.Originally Posted by jay
Wow, totally out of the blue. I hope there's the market for something like this because it'd be great to see them build it. Which property is it exactly? On the corner in front of that green space?
That's a good point. Market it outside of the region and it could be well worth it.Originally Posted by diego
Yup, that's what I was thinking. Im impressed. Shows what you can do with a single building lot. It'll be even nicer if they take care of the green a bit, its a bit overgrown at times.Originally Posted by mpd618
I don't think that will be an issue. People with this kind of money will have some hi-tech heat absorbing remote controlled blinds or something.Originally Posted by Urbanomicon

It reminds me quite a bit of 77 Charles in Toronto.
Looks awesome, but the units are very expensive I am not to sure how well they will sell. But if this does get built it will add something very unique to uptown Waterloo.
Bold and striking! Love. It. I wish the developers full success.
Why doesn't something like this get built with average amenities/interior design/size? It'd sell immediately in the mid 200's. Not that I don't like this as is, but if it doesn't sell, we all know why.
