This from that Record article is what was news to me.
Great to see that site connectivity for all transport modes is bing so carefully considered.A multi-use pathway running from Willis Way in downtown Waterloo along the railway spur will be important for moving people in and out of the station area. Another multi-use pathway running between the station and the Iron Horse Trail along the railway tracks is part of the city’s plan for trails, and could be important for linking the central station to new developments to the south and west.
The first mentioned trail is the long-awaited Spur Trail that has a thread already. Its status is planned, but not funded for 2013.
The second is something that so far has been sketched out on the CTC community building strategy meetings and discussed as a possibility at earlier Hub public consultations, and I'm happy to see it get more mention. It would be a critical link from the corridor over to the Iron Horse.
Although it really belongs in the Heritage thread, just thought I'd note that the former Rumpel Felt Factory is on the list of sites for this year's Open Doors (Saturday, 21 September 2013)
