  1. What does everyone think of 570 News dropping their all news afternoon and putting the Jeff Allan Show in its place?

I personally hate it and have tuned out. I want no-nonsense news, not someone yelling into a microphone.

I am looking forward to having a local CBC presence, if and when that will ever happen given their budget cuts.

I too am looking forward to CBC coming to Kitchener, although I get most of my news on-line rather than from the radio and didn't even know that 570 had an all news afternoon format. In the meantime, I have been listening to CKWR (oldster radio!). I like their Spanish language program on Saturdays.

That's why... I thought they had long vacation or something

As a result, I stopped listening to 570NEWS on my way home and get 680NEWS instead

Agreed, I liked being able to flip on the radio and get all the vitals in one 10-minute, rolling loop. Now we've got to listen to some biased yokul ramble on tyrades... I've stopped listening even for traffic updates now.

what happened to this show? in the past year or so it's changed for the worse. they changed too many things at once and shouldn't have a news update every minute.

    +1

Why do they even bother to call the station "570 News" when they don't even have a focus on the news.

I'd imagine because somebody's convinced having the same branding as 680 News et al is a positive. Probably the same reason you never see the letters CKCO anymore.

Who wants to listen to the BAD NEWS CBC crap. 570 NEWS is real news discussing the really important issues of the day and giving people a chance to "sound off" in the "HOUR OF RAGE" Try it some time and get your CBC frustrations off your back. I don't want my tax dollars going to spew government propaganda into my ears. 570 NEWS gives us the true meaning of FREEDOM OF THE PRESS. If you want to get brain washed listen to CBC. If you really want to get the real news watch the Sun News Network on Rogers 142. This is THE REAL NEWS

Sometimes it's best to just let the response stand on its own so everyone can breathe in its greatness.

We should be somewhat honoured George W. Bush has joined the forum, he is a bit of a celebrity what with the Secret Service detail and all.

An FYI Georgie; the CBC is mostly left leaning and therefore largely anti Conservative and anti Rob Ford in much of their coverage of our currently elected officials. So kind of the opposite of government propaganda, just saying...

And Sun News has requested to be mandatory on basic cable packages--in other words, asking to be subsidized by our money whether we watch or not.
