Hall of Fame Team set to play big game at The Aud on April 12

Now in his 10th season with the Harlem Globetrotters, Buckets Blakes will bring goodwill to the Kitchener area on Tuesday, April 10 in advance of the team’s upcoming game at The Aud on April 12.

Buckets will bring the Globetrotters’ “C.H.E.E.R.™ For Character” program to Howard Robertson Public School and the Stork Family YMCA's "Y Sports" Program. The mentorship program in schools is a key component of the Globetrotters’ appearances worldwide.

Buckets will also pit his basketball skills against employees from Coldwell Banker Peter Benninger Realty in a basketball skills competition in the Peter Benninger Realty Auditorium.

Full schedule for Buckets on April 10 below:

10 a.m. -- Howard Robertson Public School, 130 Morgan Ave.

11 a.m. -- Kids’ Hop at the market

    1:15 p.m. -- Coldwell Banker basketball challenge

    4:30 p.m. -- Stork Family YMCA, 500 Fischer-Hallman Rd. N.

Buckets Blakes’ first exposure to basketball was watching the Phoenix Suns at the age of five. To make his own hoop, he cut a hole in the top of his dad’s hat, flipped it over and shot a tennis ball through it.

Buckets shares Guinness World Record for sinking two underhanded half-court shots in one minute with Dallas Mavericks star, Jason Kidd.
