Does anyone know what is going to be going in by the intersection of Bridge and University in waterloo. Behind the plaza across from the Bechtel Park entrance looks like they have been moving some dirt around and it looked like there may have been a mobile crane in there this morning. Could they be starting another appartment, looks like the space is there for it?

That space was always supposed to have two buildings. I worked in that plaza for years and it was always the plan to have two towers. They've also shown they can be great at moving earth around, because for some reason they did that quite regularly on the site some time ago - not huge mounds, but tons of smaller ones, so I'm not sure that new earth on the site means much

Construction of an apartment building has now started on this site. Immediately to the south of the commercial plaza on the corner of Bridge and University.

This is one of the most unimaginative non-student developments being built in the Region! An EFIS box is all it is.

It surprises me how fast this is going up. However the plan dull building in this spot would not have been my first choice

I jog past this building a couple of times a week, and I completely agree. This apartment is dull and plain, but it's going up amazingly fast. They've put up all 6 floors since Christmas!

This is the way it is in most other cities. I don't know yet why residential highrises take so long to build in RoW. Certainly even here student highrises are built at similar rates as other cities i.e. a floor every two weeks give or take.

This building's neighbour, 237 Auburn Drive, is being converted to condos (63 units). I can't find anything online whether 239 will follow suit. Kingsley Developments website is blank.
