Slash pad comments belong in the crime thread. :)

From that view, if the city made a nice promenade between King and Regina, that area could almost be saved.

Noticeably, they have been replacing doors and windows.
I've always thought that place could do well with the right business. We'll see.

October 2013 is the latest given, but I'm guessing that won't be the case.
-
So we are told to believe.
How many birds have died in the region from West Nile? A few. That's it. How many people go hungry or sleep without adequate shelter every day?
I'm not saying don't...

From tonight's council meeting.

The following tenders/contracts were approved by Council:

With nothing having been resold, at least publicly, there is no way to tell what kind of ROI one would get.
I'm quite happy I invested there.

Those hydro poles at Park and Allen really add a lot to the aesthetics. :RpS_rolleyes:
-
Public indifference outweighs either support or anger by far. It seems it is only those directly affected care to be involved.
I'd like to see a few changes such as more retail/commercial at 155,...

Math. Sometimes things just don't add up. :)

Read the "paper". The loudest voices are the ones who oppose spending any more money. Look at the LRT. It's a good solution to future problems yet there is mediocre support at best.
People don't...

How dare you? :RpS_wink:
I don't think we'll see an Ikea for a very long time. If/when we do, I expect it would be out by the 401.
-
I didn't complain.
Owners have always had the responsibility for yard maintenance unless tenants sign an agreement otherwise.
Yes, but how much regulation is reasonable? Making landlords...
-
Making owners provide fixed blinds? That's not something the city should have any business doing IMO. There is already way to much interference by council.
Landlords already clear sidewalks and...

The difference is that people in Laurelwood own their property and value what they live in.
Students are notorious for not appreciating what they have. Student residences frequently don't even...

I suggested KWiC, which I first saw here posted by someone whose ID escapes me.
-
I highly doubt your "facade" designation.
It's a strong likelihood that most of the tenants of the street facing condos will use their front door to patronize local businesses. The walkability of...
-
Janet Lynn's Bisto on Belmont has a new facade. It looked like they will be opening soon from the look I had of the inside.
-
Totally agree. I don't understand why so much new construction is beige or grey. Yuck.

You don't see the circled red button on your pc?

Perhaps you could commission him.

I remember that conversation. I thought you were crazy and off by more than a year. Turns out, only six months by current estimates.
The beer bet was not mine. I'll split a bottle of wine with you...

Waterloo proposes to drop residential development charges 20 per cent

Didn't see this anywhere else.

For those too lazy. :)

It looks good.
Picnic tables though? Not only are they uncomfortable to nearly everyone, they are grossly exclusive to anyone using a wheelchair, scooter or people who have trouble lifting their...

Do you have an email address to reply to?

I might become Liberal just so I can say the word Pupatello often.
It's a good thing we don't get to vote on age based sense of humor. :)

Unfortunately I couldn't make it but I am still interested in investing locally.
Where is the Dec 11 meeting planned to be?
-
Now it's just a KFC that I used to know.

IMO, bad location. I don't associate going out for a nice meal with going to a mall.
I was there twice. Both times, cold food and mediocre service.
-
I agree with you that the City of Waterloo's parking requirements are ridiculous, but I was talking about traffic increase.
You can't prevent more traffic. Period. Disallowing new parking won't ...
-
The fact is that people want to live in this area so density will increase and traffic will increase. Hopefully, the LRT and bus transportation improves enough that people give up one or both family...

Sales people say a lot of things. I'd be booking rooms for my out of town visitors at the BarrelYards hotel if promises were kept.

Janet Lynn's new location on Belmont is touting that they'll be opening in November.
Some construction pictures on their website. http://www.janetlynnsbistro.com/Reviews.html

I think what's happening with that setback is a good thing.

Reminds me of the quote "When you come to the fork in the road, take it." ~ Yogi Berra

It's in my calendar. I'm interested.

Not to pick on you, just to provoke thought.
Unfortunately it looks like there will have to be an elevator. Unless it is hands free, which virtually none are, it won't be universally accessible.

There is no need to use a (second) anonymous account to say that.
I bet you're wrong.

Somebody needs to get this through to Mr. Outhit.

I suggest buying a time machine. I think they are available on Amazon or eBay. They have everything.
With a time machine, the commute will be negligible so it won't matter if it's Cambridge or...

My wife wants in on the chocolate hoarding. :)

Janet Lynn's new location on Belmont is well under construction.

Originally it was Don Cherry's Grapevine, then part of it was Yuk-Yuk's for a while.

I am irked (mildly) by the number of phone solicitations I have received from the NDP. I have received none from other parties.
Someone got my number, then someone ran with it and put it in the...

One good thing that should come of this will be that another Uptown Waterloo building will become accessible with a level entrance. The old businesses had needless 5 inch steps.
-
I am aware of it, but haven't submitted comments yet.

Pre-election spending promise. I hate politicians. :RpS_cursing:

I would agree, but the reno isn't finished yet. A new main entrance is going to be installed on the west end of the building where the current concession is.
Word is, the complete renovation is...
