I noticed those panels too, and they are strangely similar to the ones used on the Delta. They changed colours on one portion of the building as well, just like the hotel.
Given Auburn's history...
-
Confirmed, the place you saw advertising Vietnamese subs is in fact the new location for Givral Deli.
-
The price per square foot and condo fees are completely outrageous for a brand new development in the burbs. It will be interesting to see how sales progress on this development.
---------- Post...

This location (former home of The Loo Pub) is now a hot pot restaurant. It doesn't seem to be anything fancy, but always has people in it when I walk by.
I haven't yet had the chance to stop in,...
-
Agreed, the focus of the thread is local retail content. Now if you could find that lamp at a local store... :RpS_wink:
-
Much to my surprise, the uptown Rude Native location has closed and the restaurant is completely empty.
As per their Twitter (@RudeNative), they are looking for a new location so First Gulf must...
-
It was interesting how localized the outage could be.
I am at Seagrams at Erb and Caroline... we had power all afternoon without any interruptions. However, I could look across the street and down...
-
Even though I have to work until 8:30 tonight, i'll be racing home to check out the last 30-45 mins. This is a great event!
-
My wife and I look to be moving to the west coast for a year. We have two condo properties which we would like to lease out, one in Waterloo (primary residence) , one in Collingwood (small vacation...
-
Have you been to The Works before?
If they hold true to the standard of their Ottawa locations, it will be a smash hit. No slight on Frat Burger, but the two places aren't even comparable.
-
Yet another reason for continuing my boycott of anything and everything Maple Leaf.
Thanks for the heads up, as this closing has largely slid by under the radar.
-
YES! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! This place will print money for their owners.
The Works is one of those things that I sorely missed from living in Ottawa. Give me a Cracker Jack and sweet potato fries....
-
I visited the Arrow Lofts grand opening for their amenities and came away absolutely stunned. I was going to take pictures, but decided that they really wouldn't do the building any justice. Go and...
-
The new flower shop noted above was opened today and I had a quick look inside. Quite nice, very similar to Lilies White but not quite as colourful in decor. The items on display were beautiful...
-
Finishings seem nice, although they appear to be lacking a few details for something marketed as "high end". (ie. crown mouldings)
Shame the outside of the building is such an atrocity.
-
Correct me if i'm wrong, but the way I read it they are indicating that 194 units will be in the NEW tower. Perhaps this new tower will be taller or have a larger footprint than the original?
-
Same to you UW, and to all of the great members of the community here at Wonderful Waterloo.
-
Location is definitely a big plus for Seagrams.
However, keep in mind that like any development there are units that have been renovated/customized and those that are pretty bare bones. The more...
-
Had our yearly end of year golf club social here tonight, and I have to say that the renovations are absolutely stunning. Landmark sunk a ton of cash into this place, and it definitely shows. It is...
-
WOW!
Talk about redefining a neighbourhood! Thanks for all the information and pics Chris.Day.

-
A new school in that location wouldn't make much sense. Lackner Woods PS is just around the corner at Old Zeller and Lackner, and elementary schools as a general rule are not put at busy...
-
I am not in UW Place, but can attest that these tracks are definitely in use as I see trains running through the intersection at the forementioned times.
-
I really enjoyed it. Lots of craft breweries, although the number of wineries was relatively small. Attendance seemed to be very good, the front tent being especially busy. I personally think it will...

The new Shoppers opened today at 9:30AM. I snapped...
-
Simply outstanding. Other builders should take note...
-
Now that you mention it, that corner unit beside the new Shoppers Drug Mart would be an ideal location for LLL.
Although in it's current state, I don't think they have found a tenant for that unit...
-
Thanks for the pics UW.
Does anyone know what building(s) the foundations being poured are for? Someone mentioned a parking garage, but there seems to be foundations going all over the place.
-
Lots of activity in the mall yesterday, as Shoppers seems to be really pouring it on trying to get the store ready for their grand opening.
In addition, staff were busy stocking a new Lululemon...
-
Amazing how things turn out when a builder actually uses high-quality materials. Too many developments in our region seem to gravitate towards the cheapest thing available, and that is a shame.

Anyone else going? I always find these expos are a great night out with a small...
-
I kind of wish they had grabbed that building at King/Frederick instead of Crabby Joes.
-
This is more of what we need in the Uptown area. Very jealous. :RpS_thumbup:
-
And in keeping with the topic, are there any other heinous examples of light pollution that come to mind in the region?
-
http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l523/N8OT/hk1.jpg
What can be done about it?
I don't mean to sound like a NIMBY, but has anyone had a look at Father David Bauer Drive at the rear of the...
-
Confirmed by the staff yesterday.
-
UPDATE: Spoke to the folks at Hog Tails BBQ today, and they look to have the new location open sometime early to mid-December.
-
Agreed. I'd love to have a Milestones or Moxie's located in Uptown. :(
-
Anyone know what is going on with the old Transylvania Club? Lots of earth being moved around behind Central Fresh Market and they have now blocked off the parking lot.
-
Oh, and the food is pretty decent for a chain restaurant too.
-
If it's anything like the Ottawa locations i've been to (particularly Gloucester), then amen brother! :RpS_love:
-
I was by again tonight, and there is an awful lot of product on the shelves. I don't know a whole lot about opening a store, but the merchandising is usually one of the last things to happen.
...
-
Perhaps the 24th is the grand opening and they may have a "soft" opening before then?
-
Between this and the previous sign, they really ought to be cutting UW a stipend. :RpS_biggrin:
-
Fixtures are going in the new Shoppers fast and furious. There always seems to be some activity in there, even off hours. Does anyone have an estimated opening date for the new store?
-
I sense you may know more than you're letting on... :RpS_biggrin:
Care to share some additional details?
-
-
So basically it's going to look the same as the old buildings, the difference being an extension linking the two.
And i'm sure the sideways rain we've been getting lately is great for all of that...
-
I second the thoughts of UW on this one, and will now avoid Maple Leaf products like the plague. Aside from Oktoberfest sausages, I can't say there is much I am going to miss.
-
Agreed.
I checked it out on my way home, and it definitely looks to be two units.
