Looking forward to seeing some photo updates on this project prior to fall opening. Hopefully they are beautifying the grounds around it and that generator thing is gone or at least covered up if it...

No Anderson....I was thinking the same thing myself even though I'm a UW guy.
I prefer the new look though. Unversity Ave needs all the help it can get. Somebody needs to remind planners that...

Surely this project must be completed by now?

Next time I'm in KW I'll have to check out this development as I'm curious after reading the recent post. Never went to this area before as I don't drive and it was truely back and beyond. Don't ever...

Look forward to photo updates on this project - minus the switch and transformer thingy in its current state.
-
Thanks for the photo updates. Still too early to tell what I think of this development though - hope I'm pleasantly surprised upon completion.
-
Just checked out the website - looks like a nice development that will add a little density to the area.
-
When I lived in Kitchener it was during the period when the library was considered for the Centre Block area....and of course that didn't happen. Great to see its present site get a much needed...
-
Thanks for the updates. Both interior and exterior are looking great. Hope the second tower eventually happens.
-
Be funny if after all this onging hotel operator drama...if the hotel ended up being a Westin afterall. LOL Mind you that old proposal for Westin was nicer than what we have right now...but add a few...

The proximity of UW is the Tech Park's strength though compared with Downtown Kitchener's so called cafe culture which still has a ways to go to the point of maturity. In Waterloo Region there is...

Great news re. the Chicago service. Mind you I'd rather an Aeroplan partner like United over AA. Haven't used ONE WORLD since the demise of Canadian.
-
Thanks for the completed photo updates UW. The complex looks great.
-
An L layout will be better. A little density in the burbs is a good thing IMHO. How are the transit links in this area?
-
-
Be sure to take some photos! The ones you posted so far look nice. The Arrow project is looking better than I ever thought it would - but I hope the second tower is still on the cards. It will...

I remember all too well that sidewalks are the last thing to be cleared on the north campus. The times I had to walk along the road - luckily it was never too busy - at least back between 2004-7 when...
-
Looking forward to this project's completion. Nice to see Laurier skipping Uni Ave.

Look forward to seeing this project finished. I used to work part time across the street at Sybase. The Tech campus is really starting to come along. I just wish they'd add some resi in the mix but I...

UW opens latest new building, Environment 3 http://media.mmgdailies.topscms.com/images/76/ef/e33b62db4d799d67dea7def259f1.jpeg Environment 3_2. The $22.3-million Environment 3 building, which...

Brilliant photos - thanks for sharing. I'll be sure to visit next time I'm at UW.
-
Thanks for the photo updates. The building is looking great. I like how the windows blend with Market Square....the greeny / blue offsets all the red/brown brick which is so common in Kitchener.

I'm really excited about this development. Beautiful building......will add to a nice "midtown" cluster in this area.
-
Thanks for sharing that link.....that was quite the video!!

I LOVE that shot of UW at the top of the page - great view of campus. Would love to see a summer version from the same vantage point, particularly as so many buildings on campus are nearing...
-
Great photos - thanks for sharing. Hespeler has so much potential and will improve greatly as it becomes more urban. One of the great things about Waterloo Region is the contrast between...

Thanks for posting the photo of the former city hall. While I knew where it was located (and dare I say I like Market Square...or how it was in the 80s) and have seen the clock tower near Victoria...
-
I'd love to see the second "titty" get built. While I think its wonderful that the focus is factory conversion for Downtown Kitchener, it be great to have an office tower of at least 20 levels. For...
-
Yeah, was never a huge fan of it (more to do with the state it was in, but it had potential for something creative) but it certainly was a part of Cedar Hill's sense of place. I hope somebody can...
-
That Sky Bar will be sweet. This will be a great addition to Downtown Kitchener and offer something different in terms of accommodation besides the Valhalla...sorry Delta Kitchener and Walper Terrace.
-
LOL God forbid.
Either way great to see new hotel construction in Waterloo Region. I still would have prefered that Westin plan but oh well happy with the Super 8's, Travelodge or Hampton Inn's...
-
Kitchener was featured on the Vancouver news as the job hot spot in Canada. If that continues I could be tempted back as housing cost out here are insane. Mind you, KW is not cheap either...at least...
-
Can't wait to see this completed.....great to see WLU skip the block in a BIG way. I was always envious of WLU students because their campus was so small (especially in winter) and compact compared...

Great photos of the buildings progress. I feel like going back for grad studies. After 3 years I almost miss it. LOL
-
Great to see the progress on this project. Thanks for the photo updates.
-
The museum looks great. Never visited Doon Pioner Village when I lived there (went by on the bus a couple times...thats all) so when I get out next summer I'll have to visit both attractions.
-
Looking forward to the "office" part of this development to start construction. Looks quite impressive from what I have seen on the website. Any idea on when its likely to get started? No doubt it'll...
-
I'm looking forward to photo updates on this project!
-
Nice development. I always liked Belmont Village area for its location and atmosphere. Its one of the less pedestrian hostile areas of town. I'd live there.
-
This building seems to be progressing fast....whereas other developments seem to take forever. Mind you, the fit out of this complex could last until 2013. Seems taller than 7 levels but I suppose...
-
I suppose there is no chance in hell of this hotel opening up late summer 2011.
-
I'm a fan of the factory conversions in downtown. Colliers Int'l has been advertising this property quite a bit. Can't wait to see it finished and the area surrounding it transformed.
-
Great turnout downtown. I love the idea of movie nights downtown in the summer. God, if only I had been there when Grease was playing!! As a child of the 70/80s that was an iconic film for my...

Thanks for the update guys. I used to do much of my readings in that park-ette during the warmer days. And DKsan...I agree re. the need for open space during orientation. Hopefully that field near...

Nice to see this development coming along finally. Looks great!
