Just had a gyro - so incredibly fresh and authentic. Prices are very reasonable as well. They also have souvlaki and falafel wraps, combos and dinners. Everything under $8.99 but wraps about $5.00.

Just drove by Duke and Queen. Pitaway is open and pretty busy. Any reviews?
-
Geez, their signage says Spring 2013... They keep bumping it... :RpS_confused:
-
The Opening Soon sign has been there since December. I heard Feb 1 would be opening date. Taking this particular place a long time to open up.
-
Great! More congestion on ira needles! I hate driving on that side of town due to traffic and the smell of trash. Completely revolting.
-
The website confirms the Spring start date.
http://www.citycentreliving.ca/
I wonder what type of closing dates they are looking at now?
Strategically, this bodes well for purchasers as LRT...
-
I heard from a friend who bought there that City Centre was calling buyers to update mailing info so they can advise on spring construction start. She also said that they were 70% sold.
I wonder...

Looks like BB has just added some veterans to the Board.

With all the One Victoria hype, anyone have an update on City Centre?
-
Had a horrible lunch at the Honest Lawyer a week ago. Went there with a bunch of business associates and the place was dead. Two of the people in our group said service was slow but they were...
-
I agree. Things seem rather uncertain. There was hype that they were starting the fall which is now obviously false. The project is so important for the downtown and Centre Block. Any of our real...
-
I agree. I can't follow what's going on here. I thought Andrin was developing Mayfair? Is there an issue now so City has executed it's right to assign to a third party.
Anyone have any info on...
-
I heard from a reliable source that sales are going extremely well and the selection is very limited now. Can anyone confirm? Anyone have a price list?
-
I wonder what the branding will be for the Delta Kitchener? Confused as there were renos planned...
-
I agree. I don't want one here but watching the Township Meeting last night on TV (briefly) and the amount of $$$ that is generated for the community, including jobs and sponsorships) was...
-
Casino in Woolwich?
Just wondering on how people feel about this potential project and where in the Township you think it should go (if it does get approved)?
-
Don't forget Mon Ami and the pub in the Tannery :) Also, sushi palace behind school of pharmacy.
-
With the number of houses in the Empire and Hopewell Heights area in Breslau, shocking no transit system when basically a couple of km's from last stop on Victoria. Many university and high school...
-
I agree. Mansion, Arrow, City Centre, Social Work School, Court House, Market, not to mention all the new restaurants. I moved here 10 years ago and can't believe the difference in the core.
-
Just received an email from City Centre. Wonder if this has anything to do with One Victoria development... Also curious how this may affect the second Tower as there will be much more inventory on...
-
Yes, I read it in the paper (front page) but did not see it online yet. A bit of a depressing article IMO as Andrin rep saying sales slower than expected and took a long time to hit 70%....

-
Not sure on pricing but here is a link to the website for Bistro Nash. Sandwiches sound delicious and I wonder how much they are.

Sorry, here is...

Just received an email from City Centre as I am on mailing list. It says they are 70% sold. Looks like they are trying to make a push for 80% perhaps to start construction.
"Home to some of the...

I have heard from a reliable source that the former Duke St Convenience location will be a Shwarma place opening late fall.
-
CBC??? What may I ask is that?
-
Yes bcwessel, you could be right on that. All I know is I was still hungry after that and felt the basil pesto sauce with balsamic vinagrette with a few veggies not worth the price. I have also...
-
I tried Breadheads last week (Duke and Queen in downtown Kitchener) and was rather disappointed. $8 bought me a very small pizza with a couple of cherry tomatos, some sauce and a bit of cheese. I...
-
I have heard nothing myself. I thought groundbreaking was to happen this fall? Anyone else have an update?
-
I have walked by Breadheads a few times and not too much activity compared to line ups at Holy Guacamole (which is in new larger space next door). Wonder if the $8 for a 9 inch pizza too much for...
-
Looks like Dake and Breadheads have opened. Breadheads charges $8 for a gourmet pizza. Anyone try any of these places yet?
Pizza looks good!
...
-
Looks like Holy Guacamole is expaning and taking two of the adjoining units.
Also, new take out pizza place going into that plaza as well. Getting ready for courthouse traffic I guess.
-
Has anyone tried the Honest Lawyer out? I find the online menu vague. Not sure what the Happy Hour offerings are. They should also list live entertainment (if they have any). Not much info...
-
I was trying to find out myself. Emailed a couple of realtors I know and no one knows anything about this development.
-
I am surprised that Breslau has not been considered in the expansion. With the highest population growth and the close proximity of two subdivisions to the Kitchener boundary (probably a kilometer...
-
I parked down at the bottom of Zeller Drive and just walked along the Grand River Trail. You can get pretty close from there. I also saw people on the bridge (on a Sunday) from Fountain Street end.
-
Amazing! Thanks. May have to walk down with the kids this weekend and take a look.
-
I guess nothing new on the "Facebook" rumour?
-
-
Anyone have any idea on how many employees work there? This one popped up out of nowhere
-
I like Dynamite Pizza on Krug.
-
Yes, I heard the same thing. Construction should begin in the Fall. The Record also indicated that the second tower will have larger units as there was more of a demand for the larger two bedroom...
-
I wonder if this project will win any design awards. I think it is stunning.
-
I agree 100% Drake. I prefer Lowes but the stench is overwhelming. I was there in September with the kids and the smell turned my stomach so bad I thought I was going to be ill. Drove home with a...
-
Awesome, I love the Honest Lawyer. I used to go to the one in London quite often when I lived there. It had a two lane bowling alley, billards and good night life not to mention great 1/2 price...
-
Sorry about my lack of clarity bcwessel. I am thinking about buying a unit in the building but don't know if investment wise (whether owner-occupied or tenanted) if it is a good move based on the...
-
WOW! That would be amazing!!
-
How do the other posters, or realtors for that matter, feel about investing in this project as a whole given the latest news?
I wonder if by reducing units and pushing townhomes into phase 2 if...
-
I heard the Townhouses will be part of Phase 2 (but still premature as necessary approvals necesssary). I also heard they removed 2 floors from the tower.
They did this likely to reduce units and...
-
Just heard that City is removing one of the floors in their tower (Phase 1) and scrapping the entire 3 level side on Duke Street in favour of townhouses conods. I suspect this is so they can reduce...

Absolutely stunning (and monstrous)! Love it! Will look great when they finish the landscaping and get rid of the old bldg.
