- I met UrbanWaterloo several times and let him know I was interested in contributing. He gave me the "urban issues" title because I have a vested interest in accessibility and am on a few comities and a board regarding disability issues.
I broke my neck when I was eighteen while riding a motorcycle. Well, technically I was flying off a motorcycle. Since then I've used an electric wheelchair to get around, so I understand mobility issues.
I have had a fortunate life and the last few years I've been looking for ways to give back. I think what is being done with Wonderful Waterloo is awesome and look forward to contributing what I can.
My local investment includes an income property at Bauer. I also purchased two units at 144 Park which I'm combining for an 1,800 square foot apartment on the 14th floor. It has windows facing Uptown and King St. I'm really excited about that. My current residence is in a big old home in Westmount.
Feel free to say hi, or write me a message about anything. There are many topics of conversation I enjoy, and hearing different perspectives is always educating.
The opinions expressed in my messages may not be the shared opinions of Wonderful Waterloo

Tonight I decided it was too nice to stay in, so I headed down to the public square in Uptown Waterloo. I ended up just sitting and enjoying the evening there for three hours. There were hundreds of people passing through and a dozen seated most of the time. There were several skateboarders and "kids" hanging out. Families, and individual teens to elderly people, they all at times used the seating. I ran in to four people I know but haven't seen in a long time too, plus, UrbanWaterloo.

I find it insulting that a brand new building on King Street has a main entry that is completely inaccessible for wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, strollers or a host of other mobility devices. How can a company get a building permit at that location without having an accessibility plan that includes an accessible main entrance? It's not like it would have been difficult to have put a ramp out front. There is plenty of room.
I called them to find out if the building has any level
