A rally to support Light Rail in Waterloo Region!
KING & FREDERICK, DOWNTOWN KITCHENER
SATURDAY JUNE 11, 2011 12 - 1 PM
LRT is under serious attack by anti-transit “No to Everything” NIMBYs.
They’re hijacking community meetings, they’re spreading misinformation - anything to keep Waterloo Region from investing more money into transit and better quality of life. Without LRT, the next 20
years of growth will make Waterloo Region look like the Greater Toronto Area does today - sprawled to its limits, and snarled in endless traffic jams. From now to 2031, the cost of just half a tank
of gas per person per year - less money than we’d spend on roads - gets us vibrant, walkable LRT-supported growth that will help our community wean itself off the gas pump.
Regional Council will not vote for LRT without your support.
Please help support Light Rail Transit one last time - Regional Council votes on LRT on June 15, 2011. You can help out by e-mailing your Regional Councillor, speaking up at a public meeting,
donating to help TriTAG print posters and run newspaper ads, and showing up to our Rally for Rails II so people watching at home can see just how much enthusiastic support LRT has.
How Else Can I Support LRT?
||Letter to the editor.
||Politicians read The Record, and this remains one of the most important ways to show public support.
||Send an e-mail.
||You can use TriTAG's e-mail form. It's even better if you write your own e-mail to politicians with why Light Rail is important to
||Talk to your friends.
||Explain why Light Rail is the right choice. You can convey important information about the Region's studies that the media hasn't covered.
||Get involved in the discussion.
||Select a topic on the right and post your thoughts. You'll be helping to promote the rally to an engaged local audience.
