- Today I went to Pioneer Park Plaza (for the first time in several years) and felt like I used the Delorean and traveled back to 1960's. The Zehrs still has the old logo and the majority of the stores felt small and basically no room to walk. There were two garden centres in the parking lot for two separate stores.

- Whenever I go to Encore or the two Video Game stores in downtown Kitchener, it reminds me of the late 90's, the days when music and video games were at it's best.

- Love that we still have a Drive-In Theatre in Guelph and hope it never closes. It's the only time i would ever pay $10 or more to watch a movie or two.

I know we have several things that grow in the wild that you could eat like: strawberries, raspberries, stinging nettle, ramsons and fiddleheads. I use to know a spot that had blue berries but i stopped going. The only time i feel safe in eating something that i found in the forest is when I'm in the country or Germany. Do you ever pick wild herbs, fruit or mushrooms in this area or do you see anybody else doing it?

What do you folks think of the idea of implementing a fare zone system within the Region once we have Presto up and running? What do you think might be feasible?

I personally see fare zones as a good way of transit transit riders paying for distance which they can travel on one fare. You could set the base fare as something like $2.50 and then have it increase by $0.50 for each zone boundary which is crossed to a maximum of $4.00. $4.00 could also be the cash fare to encourage people to switch to the Presto system and to encourage people to tap off for shorter trips. To make it more fair for those living close to a zone boundary you could make the first zone crossing free.

The Better Block project is a demonstration tool that temporarily re-visions an area to show the potential to create a walkable, vibrant, neighborhood center. The idea and the charrettes to realize it have quickly spread to cities like Memphis, St. Louis, New York, and Boston.
At this time i believe there are two parks that are free: Churchill Park in Cambridge and Waterloo Park

Remember when Waterloo Park had bears, tigers, porcupines, raccoons,.....? I have a feeling if they built the enclosures in the forest by the soccer field and baseball diamonds they would still have them at the park. The current layout is good for some animals like the birds and rabbits but the deer would probably be more active if they were in the forest and plus the city would save money on water since there are several streams.
