- BlackBerry shareholders would receive U.S. $9 per share in cash

- Consortium permitted 6 weeks to conduct due diligence
- BlackBerry entitled to go-shop during due diligence period, subject to payment of a termination fee in the event alternative offer accepted
The consortium would acquire for cash all of the outstanding shares of BlackBerry not held by Fairfax. Fairfax, which owns approximately 10 percent of BlackBerry’s common shares, intends to contribute the shares of BlackBerry it currently holds into the transaction. Diligence is expected to be complete by November 4, 2013.

Farmers' Market Fire
40 firefighters from four Woolwich Fire Department stations responded to a fire at the main market building at the St. Jacobs Farmers Market this week. The 24,000 square foot wood construction building, which houses around 60 market vendors, has been deemed a total loss by Fire Department official.
This year Kidspark turns 25, and celebrates with a bang on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Victoria Park. Admission is free. Not only will favourite children’s entertainer Erick Traplin host the big event, there will be plenty of face painting, arts and crafts, activities and fun for all ages!

YKF Master Plan
The Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) is currently developing a 20 year Master Plan, and will address questions like: What should we be? What should we build? What business opportunities exist? Where do we want to be in 5, 10 or 20 years from now? What makes sense?
Three sessions are scheduled as follows:

Tour the ION
Residents are invited to tour the LRV and new iXpress bus Saturday. Visitors can have their photo taken in the LRV driver’s seat. There will also be displays for an opportunity to learn about the exciting transit initiatives shaping the future of Waterloo Region. BikeFest was a city festival May 25th celebrating the power of the simple bicycle and raising awareness of its potential in positively transforming Kitchener's health, environment, and community.
There are great things for the whole family: free tune-ups; a Scavenger Hunt; CAN-BIKE cycling skills workshop; try riding the BigBike; complete a short cycling survey; bike to the Kitchener Market to earn $5 off your lunch; try out the new sharrows and artistic bike racks; enjoy free food and live music, while the kids have fun in the bouncy castle, you watch a bicycle polo match demonstration, or check out the vendor area featuring cycling-related services.
There will be hourly prize draws during throughout the event and the more activities people participate in, the more ballots they’ll receive for prize draws.
Paddle In The Park
Canoe rentals opened in Victoria Park on May 17th. The grand opening and launch took place at noon near The Boathouse, with Mayor Zehr & Councillor Etherington taking the first canoe ride. Paddle In The Park boat rentals is operated by Canoeing the Grand in a 45-day trial period until June 30.
