Tonight I decided it was too nice to stay in, so I headed down to the public square in Uptown Waterloo. I ended up just sitting and enjoying the evening there for three hours. There were hundreds of people passing through and a dozen seated most of the time. There were several skateboarders and "kids" hanging out. Families, and individual teens to elderly people, they all at times used the seating. I ran in to four people I know but haven't seen in a long time too, plus, UrbanWaterloo. ...

The debate of installing LRT, BRT, or doing nothing at all has caused our politicians to split up drastically. I find it insulting that a brand new building on King Street has a main entry that is completely inaccessible for wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, strollers or a host of other mobility devices. How can a company get a building permit at that location without having an accessibility plan that includes an accessible main entrance? It's not like it would have been difficult to have put a ramp out front. There is plenty of room. I called them to find out if the building has any level ...
