So Im looking for suggestions for places to go for drinks and live Jazz music, or something similar. Any recommendations?

The Trio is a good suggestion. Also, it looks like Boa Nova on Charles has live jazz (a pianist) on Wednesday evenings. I've never been for that particular event, but the food there always satisfies my inner carnivore.

Nope, ideally I need a thursday night place in 2 weeks, but friday could work too.

The Rum Runner/Walper Pub used to (quite a few years ago) do a jazz band every now and then in the back room. There isn't any mention of it on their website, but you might give them a call?

There's live jazz every Monday night at Maxwell's Music House, corner of University and King St. N. Check their website for details, they've been running it since June 2010.
