Just saw on CBC news that the Queen and Prince Philip are coming to Canada, one of their stops mentioned was Kitchener-Waterloo, ON.

I can't find sources that mention Kitchener-Waterloo as a stop, but the CBC person did say that, lol. (EDIT: Sources below.)

The Prime Minister's Office says the Queen and Prince Philip will visit five cities in June and July and be in Ottawa for Canada Day.

The nine-day visit, the Queen's 22nd official tour, begins in Halifax on June 28 and ends with a three-day stop July 3-6 in Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ont.

In between, the royal couple will spend June 30 to July 3 in Ottawa before flying for a brief stop in Winnipeg.

The Queen's last visit was in 2005, when she toured Saskatchewan and Alberta on the centennial of their entry into Confederation.

The itinerary for this tour is still being finalized.

The Queen's first formal Canadian visit was in 1957.

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla toured Canada last November, while Prince Edward and Princess Anne made separate visits in March and April.

PM announces destinations for the 2010 Royal Tour of Canada
19 May 2010 | Ottawa, Ontario
http://www.pm.gc.ca/eng/media.asp?category=1&id=3367

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today announced that Her Majesty The Queen of Canada and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will visit five cities and three provinces during their tour of Canada from June 28 to July 6.

“Royal tours present a wonderful opportunity for Canadians to learn more about our constitutional monarchy, one of the pillars upon which our country is founded,” said Prime Minister Harper. “They are an important part of our history, traditions and institutions.”

This will be The Queen’s 22nd official tour of Canada as The Queen of Canada. During the Royal Tour, Her Majesty and His Royal Highness will celebrate a number of Canadian milestones and participate in events and dedications highlighting Canadian service and commitment at the local, national and global levels.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will visit:

Halifax from June 28 to June 30
The National Capital Region from June 30 to July 3
Winnipeg, Manitoba, on July 3
Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario from July 3 to July 6

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh’s last tour of Canada was in 2005, when Her Majesty and His Royal Highness visited Saskatchewan and Alberta, celebrating the centennial of the entry of those provinces into Confederation.

A full itinerary is being developed in collaboration with a number of municipalities, provinces, private organizations and federal departments. The complete itinerary will be announced at a later date.

There will be many opportunities for the public to see The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. The forthcoming 2010 Royal Tour website will also provide Canadians with information and details regarding the Royal Tour and the Monarchy in Canada.

Of course the inclusion of K-W in the tour has nothing to do with the "landslide upset victories" of the two local Tory candidates in the last federal election. </sarcasm>

If I had to guess, I would say Kitchener City Hall. She'll probably also get rolled out for something "high tech" in Waterloo as well, for relevance (sic). As I recall, when she was here in '73, she unveiled the Cenotaph in its current, unfortunate location.

Everybody should check that they still remember the words to God Save the Queen (we don't get to sing it much anymore). ;)

No King St parade for Ms Windsor. The Queen’s tour: Canada Day address, off to the races, a royal visit to RIM (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/the-queens-tour-canada-day-address-off-to-the-races-a-royal-visit-to-rim/article1575115/)
[On July 5], the Queen will fly by Porter Airlines to the technological heart of the country in Waterloo for a tour of a production line at Research In Motion, maker of the BlackBerry. Later that day, the monarch will return to Toronto...

Added from the Record, it seems our city leaders are clueless as usual ;) Queen Elizabeth returning to region in July (http://news.therecord.com/News/Local/article/713840)
“I haven’t heard the specific reason for her visit,” said acting Waterloo Mayor Scott Witmer.

He added that the city has “nothing major on the books planned such as a sesquicentennial celebration which may attract the interest of the Queen.”

He said there is a lot of speculation about whether her visit is tied to Stephen Hawking, a renowned physicist who is at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo in June and July; or whether she will tour RIM, maker of the BlackBerry smart phone.

News of the Queen’s visit also came as a surprise to Kitchener Mayor Carl Zehr, who said her visit was not prompted by an invitation from the city.

“Anytime that the monarch makes a visit to a community, it is a special occasion,” he said.

Nor did Cambridge Mayor Doug Craig know about the royal plans. “We haven’t heard anything,” he said.

Doesn't look like she'll be here for long or see much besides RIM. The royal agenda for July 5th (http://news.therecord.com/News/article/714867): "The next day, the 84-year-old Queen, who is quite tech-savvy, will visit Research In Motion’s headquarters in Waterloo where she’ll inspect the production line. The same afternoon, she’ll tour Pinewood Studios, Canada’s largest film production company. In the evening, she has a meeting with Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff at the Royal York Hotel before attending a state dinner hosted by the prime minister."

Hmmm... I wonder if she uses a CrackBerry to keep in touch with Obama and Harper. I wonder if Mike and Jim are going to introduce a Queen edition of a BB model ;) Endless marketing possibilities including List of Royal Warrant holders of the British Royal Family (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Royal_Warrant_holders_of_the_British_Royal _Family).

WATERLOO REGION — Queen Elizabeth II and Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, remain on schedule for a brief visit to Waterloo Region on Monday.

The royal couple arrives by plane from Toronto shortly after 10:30 a.m.

The Queen and Prince Philip travel by motorcade to one of the plants in Waterloo where Research in Motion (RIM) makes the BlackBerry smartphone. For security reasons, the route taken by the motorcade isn’t being released.

After a tour lasting about a half-hour, the royal couple will return to the airport by noon and fly back to Toronto.

The airport may be the best place to see the Queen. A field on Fountain Street north of the airport’s main entrance will be used to handle overflow parking because space will be limited at the airport.

Spectators will be allowed behind security fencing along the main road leading to the airport terminal, but there will be no public access to the terminal or the tarmac.

Phillip Street between Columbia Street and University Avenue will be closed to traffic during the visit to RIM’s operations at 451 Phillip St.

The RIM property won’t be open to the public. Spectators will likely stake out curb space along Phillip Street.
