First time being here since the 2008 renovations. I thought the ticker tape was a nice touch (unfortunately we don't see too many of them in the region) and was the boost I needed to get a thread started on banking.

Funds raised will go toward Cambridge Hospital’s $5 million target to purchase a MRI
Media are invited to attend Essential Conversations: Enrich Your Life Forever with keynote speaker Dr. Amy D’Aprix
Fundraiser now in its second year, with $57,000 raised in pilot year
How can you enrich your life as you approach your senior years? Dr. Amy D’Aprix, internationally renowned expert in aging, retirement and caregiving, will explore this question and other lifestyle issues related to aging in an engaging talk and fundraising event for hospitals in the Tri-City area of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge.
The fundraiser will benefit the foundations of St. Mary’s General Hospital, Cambridge Memorial Hospital and Grand River Hospital by providing funds to expand the hospitals’ digital imaging services. Now in its second year, the event will provide an opportunity to sit down with “Dr. Amy” and talk about conversations you should be having with your loved ones to ensure the second half of your life is as fulfilling as the first.
“The Board and Staff of the Foundation are extremely excited to embark upon our most ambitious fundraising campaign to date, to bring a much needed MRI to Cambridge Memorial Hospital,” said Cindy Carson, interim executive director for Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation. “To fund this equipment, we will need to raise $5 million this year. This MRI will significantly improve access to digital imaging health care services across the entire Waterloo Region, and for that reason, we are confident that we will receive wide spread support for our campaign.”
“BMO is proud to host this event for the second year running. Last year we raised $57,000 for Waterloo Region hospitals, and we expect similar success this year. Our company and employees are committed to improving the communities in which we live and work, and this fundraiser allows us to make a significant contribution to healthcare in the area,” said Susan Brown, senior vice president for BMO Bank of Montreal, Ontario Regional Division. “In addition to raising funds, we hope that Dr. Amy’s presentation will spark discussions about crucial matters pertaining to lifelong wellness.”

BMO Bank of Montreal invites customers and members of the community to celebrate the grand re-opening of its newly renovated, full-service branch in Waterloo on Thursday, February 2nd.
The historic BMO Waterloo main branch is located at 3 King Street South. BMO has been proudly serving the Waterloo community since 1881, and has been located at the 98 year-old heritage building since 1925.
The newly renovated, open-concept branch offers customers extended banking hours and is designed to provide a great banking experience through a variety of financial services and conveniences, including:
A free coin counter - a simple-to-use kiosk which counts your loose change;
Services provided in eight different languages;
Access to commercial account and deposit services;
One ATM;
Barrier-free access; and
Full service BMO Nesbitt Burns office located on the second floor.
"We are excited to be opening our newly renovated branch in this historic landmark building, and encourage residents and local business owners to come in and speak with our team about their financial needs," said Debbie Czaniecki, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal.
Janet Peddigrew, Vice President, BMO Bank of Montreal added that working with small business owners continues to be a priority.
"The Kitchener-Waterloo region is a world-renowned hub for small business and innovation in Canada, and at BMO we're committed to helping businesses grow to their full potential," said Ms. Peddigrew. "BMO is making $10 billion available to businesses across Canada over the next three years, which will help businesses to continue to innovate, grow and create jobs. Our local bankers are also armed with limits to make the lending decisions right here in Waterloo."
Ms. Peddigrew also noted that BMO has added a Financial Services Manager (FSM) specializing in business banking, located at the Marsland Centre.
According to BMO Economics, Kitchener-Waterloo's diverse economy looks to be outperforming broader Ontario trends and the region is outpacing the provincial average in job and population growth.
In celebration of the grand re-opening, the first 100 customers to use BMO's free Coin Counter and deposit their funds into a new Premium Rate Savings Account between January 25 and February 29, 2012 will receive a matched deposit of up to $25 to kick-start their savings.

They used to have a semicircular, lit sign in the cove above the door. And before that, as the archive shot shows, a sign blocking the engraved legacy name (Molsons Bank).
