[ What is FilmKW? ]
FilmKW is a partnership between the City of Kitchener, City of Waterloo, Township of Wilmot, Township of Wellesley, and the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.
The purpose [1] of the partnership is to attract film and television production to our municipalities. We are a community of urban and rural locations, for the most part unexplored by the film and television industry. We have politicians and staff prepared to make filming in our community as straightforward and enjoyable as possible.
The purpose [2] of FilmKW is to bring the partner municipalities together to share services and expertise and to develop and implement policies and procedures that will ensure that the world recognizes the potential of our community for film locations. FilmKW will ensure that the industry is provided seamless, excellent service when they are in our community.

Hollywood Cambridge
The City of Cambridge welcomes the film industry to our community. The ambiance and architecture of our historic buildings, the river winding its way through their midst, the old stone and iron bridges, all three quaint downtown areas --- these are reminiscent of Europe. This look is seldom easy to recreate, thereby making Cambridge very appealing to the film industry for period pieces.

Cambridge is hearing, "Lights, camera, action" again.
Parts for the movie "Red" are being filmed right now in Cruickston Park.
The film, staring Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman has been on location in Toronto since January.
It's based on the DC Comics book of the same title.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres in October.
Cruickston Park was also home to the film "Cold Creek Manor," back in 2003.
Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone starred in that one and spent part of the summer in the Galt area.

Cambridge continues to be a popular location for the film industry as the stars and production crews from Murdoch Mysteries, the award-winning Canadian drama set in the Victorian era, descend upon the City.

Highlights include:
Set Dressings/Props: Wesley United Church and the Cambridge Farmers’ Market Building will be set dressed on Monday September 19 between 8:00am – 8:00pm. Some production vehicles will occupy the Market Square parking lot. In addition, the Old Galt Library (34 Water St. N.) will be tweaked inside and out with set dressings.

Filming is slated for Tuesday September 20th between 7:00am to 11:00pm at Market Building/Market Square Parking Lot for exterior filming (approx 7:00am – 1:00 pm); Wesley United Church for interior/exterior work (approx 1:00pm – 9:00pm); and 34 Water St. N. for both interior/exterior filming (8:00pm – 11:00 pm.

Changes that Impact the Public:
The Market Square Parking Lot will be closed on Tuesday September 20th prior to 6:00am. The lot will remain closed until filming and clean-up is completed. In addition, some on-street parking spaces on Water St. and lower Dickson St. will be reserved for production set-up and filming purposes. There will be no road closures.

Waterloo Regional Police Services will supervise the intersections at Ainslie Street at Dickson Street from approx. 7:00am to 1:00pm; and Water Street N. at Dickson Street from approx. 8:00pm to 11:00pm for traffic control and safety.

Murdoch Mysteries is being cancelled (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/arts/television/citytv-killing-murdoch-mysteries-after-upcoming-season/article2182210/) at the end of this season. There goes another regional production. I think Nikita is the only show left, and they've only been here twice.
