Just wanted to say hi to everyone and thank-you for joining WW. This is new site but I wanted to let you guys know there will be a category system up probably next week. That's just in case you're wondering why there's only one large folder at this point (waiting for some more threads - takes a while to do them right but I can see a bunch of us are working on it). It's very easy to move threads to their respective locations later, so no worries about that.
Also if you have any suggestions for the board here, I'm more than happy to hear them: folder structure, colour schemes, other new features, etc..
There's a bunch of new features in this software already, one that I'm going to try using is the Calendar as I think it will be useful to track Committee meetings, condo grand openings, light rail transit presentations, etc..
So yeah, 'Hi'

Thanks for putting this all together! Things are coming quickly and it looks great so far!
Just a quick note to "guests" (those that haven't registered yet): We'd love to hear what you have to say, so register, it only takes a minute, and let yourself be heard!
Kudos to everyone who put time into setting WW up!
And like Spokes mentioned, if you're a guest, REGISTER! It'll make for a more interesting conversation.

First off, welcome to all the new members who joined during the last week.
Secondly, just so everybody knows you can collapse the category's (in case it's easier to read the sections you're interested in). For example, the screenshot below shows all categories collapsed except Construction and Land Development.
Third, thanks spokes for getting things started in the Calendar Section. :) To keep a uniform posting method, I'm going to suggest prefixing any Region of Waterloo Events with ROW, and using the first three characters of each lower municipalities name for their events. Sound good/better suggestions? Also, for Today's Events you'll be able to see them at the bottom of the forum under "What's Going On?". This is also visible in the screenshot.

Hello,
I'm new here, I've been reading the topics on Skyscraper page for quite some time. I saw a flyer for this site on a light standard outside of Coffee Culture downtown a couple of weeks ago. I thought I would stop by and actually join.
I live in the western sprawl of Kitchener, I don't see too much being posted aout my area of town so I thought I would start to contribute.
Cheers, Joe

Embedding files, pdfs, powerpoints is a new feature I'm working on. For now if there's a document you'd like up, PM me a link and I'll make sure it's posted.

Looks like it's working well, and with no lag/loading time which is nice.

Awesome to hear! It should save a lot of time being able to post the document directly than having to load an image for each page.

Might I suggest that the Culture section of the Links page be modified to include a link to Murdoch Mysteries (http://www.murdochmysteries.com/), which uses Galt for their external shots?

SCRIBD embedding is now functional, it can be a bit tricky though. You want to copy the bolded red part:
<embed id="doc_459490773050932" name="doc_459490773050932" src="http://d1.scribdassets.com/ScribdViewer.swf?document_id=4464862&access_key=key-2fcgz1rmje5s7m59o5av&page=1&viewMode=list" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="500" width="100%" wmode="opaque" bgcolor="#ffffff"></embed>
into the [SCRIBD] tags. For example: 4464862&access_key=key-2fcgz1rmje5s7m59o5av&page ; but with the I
