Interesting that the Liberal candidate shares the same name as an independent with no listed platform. One has to wonder if he (the independent) was encouraged to run in order to capture a few votes from folks who are confused. :RpS_confused:
After all, the ballots don't list a party affiliation, and this election will probably be pretty close with the way that Hudak is polarizing people. I am NOT a Conservative, but Liz Witmer has done a great job representing our riding and I would normally vote for her. However, I can't support Tim Hudak and will be putting my vote elsewhere.

That can't be right, can it? I remember the federal election having the party listed. Obviously that doesn't make it a slam dunk on a provincial level, but I could see there being a lot of problems if the party wasn't listed - I know quite a few that don't even know the names of those they are voting for, just the party.

Is it just me or does Eric Davis look a lot like Harold Green?

In all seriousness though I am looking forward to the actual debates.

I strongly doubt it. He posts here, so maybe he will come in to explain why he's running.

I could be wrong, I didn't they did for whatever reason.
Memory makes me think the ballots are pretty plain and non-descript.

I'd love to hear it, as his website is very sparse on details aside from "running for the experience".

Well here's a shot of a Federal ballot.... it's definitely plain and non-descript, but it has parties listed.

Thanks!
One would assume the provincial ballots would be similar (or identical).

I am not running just to split the ballot with Eric Davis. I am working hard to earn the trust of the Kitchener Waterloo Electorate.
It is unfortunate for Eric Davis that we share the same name, but it is also unfortunate for me because I won't be able to determine how who voted for me because they support what I am doing and who voted for me just because they are confused--and the statistics would get messy if I tried to account for double counting ;-).
Eric Davis doesn't have much luck with his name. He also shares a name with www.redbastard.com/ You can help Eric to show up first on google by searching him and clicking through to his website.
I should also point out that candidates are listed with their party names, so if there is any confusion it should be negligible.

I have policy ideas. Not a policy platform. Even if I did win, I would be surprised if the other MPPs from across Ontario would ask me to form government. More seriously, I think that the parties represent the most democratic method of developing policy. The development of policy is an ongoing process, that doesn't have to happen during an election.

If you are interested in the question being answered rather than simply in sowing confusion yourself, or trying to engender some sort of sympathetic vote for Eric, thinking that he is so desperate for votes that he'll take them any way he can get them, Peter spent months gathering nominations in order to even be on the ballot. He obviously didn't know that anyone else with his surname would be on the ballot. If you actually want to know why he is running see:

Is it also part of the same imagined conspiracy that Eric Davis as Red Bastard is very very funny.

No one but Peter encouraged Peter to run. That is why he is running as an independent. He doesn't deserve these types of cheap shots.

So valid questions are now considered cheap shots? I'm not sure I see it that way, it was more of a rhetorical question or observation than anything.
At the time my post was made, there wasn't much in the way of information on his website regarding platforms or what he was trying to accomplish. That has since changed.
