The Region of Waterloo Archives is pleased to announce that Archives Online is launched! Discover the records held in the Archives at http://row.minisisinc.com. Archives Online allows researchers to browse holdings; search for archival records by keyword; search histories of municipalities, agencies, boards, and commissions; view digital copies of archival records; view online exhibits; and make comments or link to related material.

Please note that Archives Online is not a complete inventory of our holdings. New information is added on a regular basis. In the meantime, you may have to consult an archivist to find what you need. Contact us at 519-575-4757 ext. 3027 or archives@regionofwaterloo.ca. We look forward to hearing your feedback on Archives Online or helping you with your research.

We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage for making Archives Online possible.

A new online database of archival material and regional history was launched on March 31, 2011.

The Region of Waterloo Archives Online is a database designed to help you find archival materials at the Region of Waterloo Archives. Accessible at http://row.minisisinc.com, the database includes historical material pertaining to the history of the Region of Waterloo.

“We’re excited about the launch of Archives Online,” said Regional Chair Ken Seiling. “This web-based tool will make accessing historical information about our Region easier for everyone wanting to know the story of our community.”

The Region of Waterloo Archives includes significant documents such as the original plans and specifications for the West Montrose Covered Bridge (1881), John Hoffman's plan for the Town of Waterloo (1854), and a film of a County Council meeting (1966). These records are now available on Archives Online.

Established in 1990, the Region of Waterloo Archives exists to preserve and provide access to the documentary heritage of the region. It is the official repository of the records of the Region of Waterloo, County of Waterloo, Township of Woolwich, Town of Elmira, related agencies, boards and commissions, and it preserves the largest collection of the Township of Waterloo records.

Archives Online was made possible with the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage.
